Francesca Di Bartolomeo, PhD and Research Scientist at SINTEF.
SINTEF is one of the largest independent non-profit research organisations. At SINTEF, Francesca is researcher at the Research Group Sustainable Biotechnologies and Bioprospecting (RG SBB), part of the SINTEF Department of Biotechnology and Nanomedicine.
Besides her role as a Research Manager (from 2020 to 2023), Francesca is directly involved in the group's research activities. She has experience in modern biotechnology and the main interest in applying new biotechnology solutions to develop a sustainable bio-based economy. During her PhD at the Graz University of Technology (Austria), she specialised in yeast cell biology. Following this, she pursued a post-doc at Chalmers University (Sweden), where she worked in the field of system and synthetic biology. At SINTEF, Francesca is leading and co-managing several research projects combining diverse competencies. Among these, there is the Horizon 2020 Green Deal project PYROCO2.
