ENGIE Solutions uses waste heat from the YOPLAIT site in Vienna (38) to heat a neighborhood
Description
YOPLAIT Production France, the social landlord ADVIVO, the City of Vienne and Vienne Condrieu Agglomération have joined forces with ENGIE Solutions to implement a waste heat recovery installation and create a heating network.
This project aims to heat part of a district of Vienna using the energy available in the YOPLAIT manufacturing process.
Energy available and local :
By installing heat pumps, ENGIE Solutions is setting up infrastructures to recover this waste heat on the YOPLAIT site, energy which will be directly injected by ENGIE Solutions into the heat network located in the north of Vienna.
Optimize and decarbonize the heat supply of nearly 800 social housing units :
This installation covers more than 60% of housing needs, the remainder being provided by the gas boilers already in place.
An exemplary project :
The work and solutions found jointly by ENGIE Solutions and YOPLAIT make it possible to realize this virtuous project for the circular economy of Vienna North. This contract is part of the Tepos approach (Positive Energy Territory) and the Urban Climate Air Energy Territorial Plan. This project is in line with the objectives set by the Climate Agreement signed in Paris in 2015.
Key figures:
• +3,000 MWh of recovered energy per year
• -50% CO₂ (i.e. the equivalent over the duration of the contract of 1,300 times around the earth by car)
